I suppose I should explain the long absence and why the circus has been dark for so long. This seems to be the logical step in taking our show back on the road.

I’m happy to say there were no lion attacks, no freak clown accidents, just merely paying my volunteer dues and chairing an auction that took far more time and energy that I ever would have expected. It’s a good thing I didn’t know. I never would have signed up for it. It was just like birthing a baby. It was a little painful, but in the end, rewarding and something everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. So that’s that.

I couldn’t very well do that and work, and cook and clean, and do laundry. So something had to go. Basically, everything else went. And now it’s been a month since the auction, and it’s time to get back things.

And here is where I am having trouble. I just can’t figure out what to do next. I don’t know what is harder, starting something or finishing something. I’m so much better in the middle, when I have a little momentum to help move me along. I can’t look too far ahead, but I need something to look forward to. Go figure.

So this is me starting. Something. We’ll see where it takes me.
